Detecting Bed Bug
Even the most seasoned expert can only detect bed bugs 20%-25% of the time.
Appearance
The appearance of adult bed bugs is flat, brown to red colored shaped bodies about the size of an apple seed or lentil. Baby bed bugs are semi-transparent, light brown in color and are the size of a poppy seed.
Eggs, markings and droppings
Blood stains, dropping and eggs can found around the edges and folds of mattresses, edges and folds of sheets and inside pillow cases. Folds, tufts and crevices of furniture and upholstery as well as wooden furniture where the wood and fabric meet are places where you can detect bed bugs. They can also commonly be found near baseboards of walls, crevices in window ledges and on curtains.
Bites
One of the most common reasons we get calls is from people who have bed bug bites. BED BUGS DO NOT CARRY OR SPREAD DISEASE! So if you have been bitten it is as harmless as a mosquito bite. Many people do not have reactions to bed bug bites. Those who do, bite marks may appear within minutes or days, usually where skin is exposed during sleep. They can be small bumps or large itchy welts. The welts usually go away after a few days.

Thermo Heat
Does heat treatment for bed bugs really work?
Heat is non-toxic, and can kill all bed bug life stages including bed bug eggs. However, heat treatment of any kind (except your home clothes dryer) is still relatively expensive and has no residual (long lasting) activity. The lack of residual activity means that bed bugs can re- infest again the day after treatment.
